Rules of Wingspan:

To win the game, players must collect different types of birds and use their unique abilities to score points. The game board is covered in lovely illustrations of different birds, and each bird card is also very well-designed. Players must collect food tokens to feed their birds, as well as eggs which can be used to hatch new birds.

Players take turns placing their bird cards on the board, and then taking actions based on the type of bird they’ve placed. Each turn, players can either gather food or lay eggs. When laying eggs, players must first choose an available nesting spot on the board, and then pay the cost in food tokens. Eggs can be hatched by paying the cost in food tokens when it’s that player’s turn to hatch them.

Once all players have placed their bird cards on the board, the game enters the nesting phase. During this phase, players take turns hatching their eggs and placing new birds on the board. Once all eggs have been hatched, the game moves into thefinal scoring phase. Players tally up their points, and the player with the most points is declared the winner!

Wingspan is definitely one of the best new games that I’ve played in recent memory, and I can’t wait to play it again.
